Hera Naguib holds a doctorate in creative writing from Florida State University, focusing on global and transnational poetry. Winner of the 2023 John Mackay Shaw Academy of American Poets Award and the 2023 Quarterly West Poetry Prize selected by Sally Wen Mao, her work has been published or is forthcoming in Poetry Northwest, TriQuarterly, The Academy of American Poets, New England Review, The Cincinnati Review, Wasafiri, World Literature Today and elsewhere.
Naguib has received support from VIDA: Women in Literary Arts and the Fulbright Program. She has led writing workshops as an instructor at Florida State University, Forman Christian College University, Kinnaird College for Women, and Beaconhouse National University. Most recently, she served as seminar leader for “Poetry of Place,” a poetry workshop for young writers offered by the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. Currently, she teaches at the Department of Writing, Literature, & Publishing at Emerson College.
Hera lives between Boston and Lahore.
